Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Diageo Settle Lawsuit, End Business Relationship

Rapper and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially withdrawn his lawsuit against Diageo, settling his legal battle with the global spirits company.

In a joint statement released on Tuesday, both parties confirmed they have agreed to resolve all disputes between them. As part of the settlement, Diageo now holds full ownership of Ciroc vodka and DeLeon tequila, two brands previously promoted by Combs. Moving forward, there will be no business relationship between Combs and Diageo.

The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

The Lawsuit: Allegations of Neglect and Racial Bias

Combs originally sued Diageo in May, accusing the company of failing to uphold its commitments to Ciroc and DeLeon. He claimed Diageo treated them as “urban” brands, investing far less in them compared to other premium liquors.

The legal dispute escalated as Combs, who is Black, alleged that Diageo engaged in racial discrimination. Court filings revealed that Diageo executives allegedly told Combs that his race was a factor in limiting distribution to urban markets. Some company leaders reportedly resented his financial success.

Diageo denied these claims, stating in legal documents that Combs’ accusations were “false and reckless” attempts to secure additional financial gains from the company.

Business Fallout and Personal Controversy

Combs’ business reputation took a hit following the lawsuit. In November, he faced a separate legal battle when R&B singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura) sued him, accusing him of years of abuse, including beatings and rape. Combs settled the lawsuit just days after it was filed.
